Veneers

People struggle with various types of dental issues, from tooth decay to improper alignment of their teeth. Therefore, tooth restoration or a cosmetic dentistry solution may not address the issues of every dental patient.

In most cases, people need specific solutions that can address their functional and aesthetic requirements.

Do you have heavily stained or discoloured teeth and think you cannot bring back the natural colour through regular whitening treatments? Are you struggling with a chipped or cracked tooth and want to restore its full functionality and aesthetic appeal without a tooth replacement?

You can choose dental veneers to bring back the bright smile on your face. At Mernda Smiles, we offer highly durable, aesthetically appealing dental veneers in Mernda.

What Are Dental Veneers?

These are thin shells that are placed in front of frontal teeth to ensure better functionality and aesthetic appeal for the teeth. At Mernda Smiles, we offer veneers made from composite resin and porcelain.

Note that each veneer is custom-made to provide the exact natural appeal of the original cracked or stained tooth. Our dentists usually cement the veneer to the outer surface of the tooth to provide permanent results.

In addition to veneers, we provide a comprehensive range of dental services, including Invisalign, orthodontics, children’s dentistry, crowns and bridges, teeth whitening, root canal treatment, and more. Whatever your dental needs, our expert team is committed to delivering the highest-quality care.

Who Will Find Dental Veneers Fitting Their Needs?

Veneers are the ideal choice for people with the following types of dental issues:

  • Highly stained or discoloured teeth.
  • Worn down teeth.
  • Chipped or broken teeth.
  • Teeth with many wears and tears.
  • Teeth with large, irregular gaps between them.
  • Misaligned or uneven teeth.

This is an excellent option for people who are with visible, unattractive teeth fillings. Note that veneers are not a great choice if you are struggling with weak or unhealthy teeth – due to decay, gum disease, or insufficient existing enamel.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are known for excellent durability. With good care and maintenance, you can get lasting results for up to 20 years. Though porcelain veneers are an expensive choice, it can most fittingly replicate the appearance of natural teeth and provide excellent stain resistance characteristics.

Do you know porcelain has the right translucent properties that make the veneer to reflect the light the same way how natural teeth do? Note that your dentist will take an impression of your tooth during the initial visit, and your veneer is prepared in a dental lab. The making of porcelain veneer needs expertise, resources, and time.

Though it is highly durable and strong, if a porcelain veneer chips or cracks, you can’t repair it; instead you should replace the whole veneer. Are you searching for dental clinics that offer quality dental veneers in Mernda? Book an appointment with our dentists today.

Composite Resin Veneers

It is a choice if you want an affordable veneer option for your tooth. However, it needs proper care and regular maintenance and is not expected to last more than eight years. When it comes to putting the veneer, your dentist will reshape your tooth and fix the veneer to it.

Compared to porcelain veneers, composite veneers can be fixed in a single appointment. If there is any crack or chip in composite veneers, you can repair it and continue to use it. Similar to natural teeth, composite veneers can stain over the period. You can contact us today to book an appointment with our dentists to get composite veneers in Mernda.

Our Procedure

At Mernda Smiles, we begin the treatment with the diagnosis and treatment planning. Note that you may be required to visit our clinic more than once to complete the process – particularly if you choose porcelain veneers.

During the initial consultation, our dentists will talk to you, understand your requirements, complete a visual examination, take an x-ray of your teeth if need be, and communicate the options with veneers, including the limitations.

Once you choose veneer, we will also remove approximately half a millimetre of enamel from your tooth surface to exactly fit the veneer to your tooth. You can also choose to get a painless tooth trimming as we can administer local anaesthesia to relieve you from the disturbance of tooth shaping.

We will take the impressions of your tooth and send it to our dental laboratory if you choose porcelain veneers. In the meantime, we will fix temporary dental veneers as the preparation of the veneer may take a few weeks.

Once the dental veneer is ready, we will place it on your tooth, check whether it fits exactly, and cement the veneer permanently. If the veneer does not fit correctly, our dentist may trim your tooth to make the prosthetic fit. We will also clean and etch the tooth to roughen the tooth surface and ensure a strong bond with the dental veneer.

After cementing it to your tooth, we will apply a special light beam to harden the bonding between your tooth and the veneer. We will also make the final adjustments and ensure they satisfy you functionally and aesthetically.

Our dentists may request you to make a follow-up visit after a few weeks to check the functionality of the veneer and how your gums and teeth respond to it.

At Mernda Smiles, we proudly serve patients in Mernda, Wollert, South MorangYan YeanDoreen, and surrounding areas. No matter where you’re located, our dedicated team is here to support your dental health.

After Care Tips

Before leaving the clinic, check and ensure that you feel the right bite. If you don’t, you can communicate that to the dentist and get it corrected. Don’t forget that it may take a few days for you to get used to the veneer. Try to avoid biting hard objects or your fingernails as it may break your veneer due to pressure.

It is important to follow excellent dental hygiene for getting lasting results for your veneer.  Floss daily, brush twice a day, drink plenty of water after every meal to wash out food residues, and go for regular check-ups to address any dental issues in advance. Note that you may experience dental decay and cavities around or under veneers if you don’t follow good oral hygiene.
